We built this because we needed it

Duos wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born in a lobby (literally).

The problem

Dating apps were built for a world where common ground means nothing more than zip code and vague lifestyle adjectives. For gamers, that's not enough. Gaming isn't just a hobby — it's a value system, a social structure, a love language. We wanted an app that understood that.

What we actually built

Duos matches people by the games they love — because if you've both put 400 hours into the same title, you already understand each other in a way a bio never could. From there, the rest of the connection gets to be real.

How we think about safety

Toxic gaming culture is real. We built Duos knowing that — especially for female and marginalized gamers who've been burned by spaces that said they were welcome and then proved otherwise. Our moderation is active. Our guidelines have teeth. The vibe here is earned, not assumed.

How we think about Community

We're not just matching individuals. We're building a space where gamers of all kinds — casual, competitive, queer, introverted, obsessed with lore — feel like they actually belong. The community features exist because the lobby is often the best part.

Who's building this

Duos was founded in Los Angeles by Sebastian Slaughter and built with the belief that the gaming generation deserves a platform that reflects how they actually connect — not a retrofit of someone else's idea of dating.
